CrossOver GX250

The CrossOver GX250 is Gogoro’s first India-made smart scooter and is manufactured in Maharashtra, India. The CrossOver GX250 has the best features of Gogoro’s new crossover smart scooters. This vehicle has added India-specific features that Gogoro pilot riders in India requested.

New All-Terrain Chassis

Optimized for different road conditions, the CrossOver GX250 comes with a newly made all-terrain frame that offers greater rigidity for more strength and stability. The newly developed frame offers 176mm of ground clearance, which is the highest among Gogoro’s present electric vehicle lineup.

 Performance and Easy Control

CrossOver GX250 has a 2.5 kW Direct Drive feature, which offers the greatest speed of 60+ kmph, and a range of 111km. The cross-over GX250’s new frame design increases the durability of the suspension system much more and accommodates greater loads while emphasizing comfort and stability.

Flexible Cargo Capacity

The CrossOver GX250 offers riding space for passengers and ample storage choices as it is designed to adapt to different riding scenarios. The vehicle also has a new mounting point expansion system, which has 26 locking points. The crossover GX250 can leverage four cargo areas. The platform design headlight, foot, seat, and rear cargo space of the e-scooter can easily accommodate most storage requirements. For carrying more, the rear seat can be flipped up or removed to put cargo storage as required.

India’s International Centre for Automotive Technology (ICAT) certified the CrossOver GX250 for India in August. Gogoro became the first foreign two-wheel OEM to be recognized by the Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI) as the CrossOver GX250 for its EV financing programs in November.

Words by the management

The founder and CEO of Gogoro, Horace Luke said, “We are on the cusp of a dramatic transformation in the global urban transportation landscape. With more than 250 million mopeds and motorcycles in India, our country is well-positioned to lead the change to sustainable customers and B2B transportation. The Gogoro CrossOver series embodies everything our organization has come to stand for, and the new made-in-India CrossOver GX250 is optimized for riders in India with more seating space, more storage, and better ground clearance.”

He also said that “Gogoro was uniquely developed to introduce a mass market transition to sustainable energy in densely populated urban areas by launching an intelligent battery swapping ecosystem for electric vehicle refueling, which can be safe, scalable, and open. There has been a great demand in India for Gogoro battery swapping, smart scooters, and other electric vehicle technologies. We are excited to be launching commercially with a variety of partners. On average, last-mile delivery riders ride more than six times the distance as customer riders, thus helping these delivery riders adopt smart, sustainable electric transportation, which can have an accelerated impact on a city.”

Commercial Partnerships

As more and more companies in India adopt the requirement for sustainable transportation, they need new mobility solutions for logistics, delivery fleets, and taxi services that not only accomplish the best alternative to gas-powered vehicles but also are well suited to the particular market and industry requirements in India. Gogoro provides swap-and-go battery swapping technology in seconds which is safe, reliable, and always available. But, the other type of electric charging still requires dedicated parking and charging time, which decreases rider availability and income. Gogoro is working with different partners in the region across 3 core business types.

Businesses and Fleet Operators - Gogoro continues to work with large and small partners to help sustainable delivery companies like Zypp, logistics fleets, and taxi services using Gogoro battery swapping, and Smartscooters, including shifting from conventional ICE vehicles.

Mobility-as-a-Service (MaaS) - Gogoro is working with partners like FutureEV to enable new sustainable business opportunities. This includes using Gogoro’s GoShare platform, which allows fractional and shared mobility-as-a-service deployments.

Turnkey Solution - Gogogo works with business partners to deploy a complete battery-swapping ecosystem. The company’s smart scooters are made in India for new domestic and international markets, like Nebula Energy in Nepal.

About Zypp Electric - Zypp Electric and Gogoro are continuing their long-term partnership, which began with a successful B2B partnership. That partnership is continuing with Gogoro’s integration into Zypp Electric’s fleet features.

About FutureEV - FutureEV will launch an electric scooter-sharing service in the Indian tourist city of Goa, using Gogoro battery swapping and smart scooters. The organization will begin a pilot on December 25, 2023, along with a commercial launch around the first quarter of the year, 2024. Goa is ranked 15th in the world in vehicle density and it has more than 8.5 million tourists per year. It will be compulsory in Goa for all new tourists to use e-vehicles, rent-a-cab, and rent-a-bike, and it will be all-electric from January 2024.

About Nebula Energy, a subsidiary of MG Group (Nepal) - Gogoro will also partner with Nebula Energy to roll out battery swapping and smart scooters in Nepal. Nebula Energy is a wholly owned subsidiary of MG Group, a new energy firm committed to leading the path towards an environmentally sustainable and energy-independent Nepal.

Gogoro Battery Swapping

Gogoro’s ecosystem is an open and interoperable battery-swapping platform that was recognized at the beginning of this year by Guidehouse Insights, as the leading battery-swapping organization for lightweight city vehicles globally. Gogoro battery swapping is a new technology for the refueling of swappable batteries which is smart, safe, and continuously optimizing itself to be dynamic and versatile for customers, companies, and communities. The International Centre for Automotive Technology (ICAT) of India certified Gogoro’s Smart Battery for India in July. The Gogoro Network supports about 600,000 riders and has more than 1.3 million smart batteries in circulation via its network of 12,000 battery-swapping stations at more than 2,500 places in Taiwan. With more than 400,000 daily battery swaps and 510 million battery swaps to date, Gogoro battery swapping has saved more than 785,000 tons of CO2 since its launch in 2015.
